Clone Wars Review
Jon kennt einen Steve und der hat George Lucas’ Animationsorgie bereits gesehen und schreibt dazu folgendes:
Saw the World Premier of Clone Wars yesterday (it pays to have friends who rep for the book tie in company). Stood about six feet away from George Lucas at one point. I couldn’t hear what he was saying to the press; afterward, we got to stand by his van in the parking lot while he and his entourage climbed aboard.
The movie was okay; most of the dialog was a re-hash of the trite stuff that goes into the fan films (”We’re going in!” “Hold on!” “What took you so long?” “I’ve got a bad feeling about this!”), but there was a LOT of action. For some reason, I prefer the animated Clone Wars designs in 3-D CGI over the original 2-D series (which was fine, and had some really good stuff in it, but I never LOVED it). Also, the plot wasn’t galaxy-shaking, since it couldn’t interfere with what has been established in episodes 2 and 3.
They’re building the Clone Troopers into an interesting military unit, which will surely appeal to boys of all ages who like to play war.
Didn’t care for the new Ahsoka character, and her tween age “attitude,” but I also understand why a character LIKE her “has” to be in there. Like what Doctor Who said about all planets having a North, apparently her world has a Valley.
They brought Christopher Lee back (just his voice, not his head), and he was GREAT. The other voice actors do a good approximation of the movie cast, and Anakin comes off a LOT less-whiny.
They downplayed the “Anakin is going to be Darth Vader” stuff, and made him into more of a hero.
All in all, great for kids, enjoyable for adult Star Wars geeks who still care (like me); certainly worth seeing on DVD (especially if you have Blue Ray and HD).
Ich bin da eher noch misstrauisch. Eigentlich hab ich gedacht, dass wird ein großer Haufen Bantha-Mist, aber das macht mich ja dann doch ganz neugierig. Mal sehen ob mich die Neugier ins Kino treibt.
